Fabrication and Assembly of an Aluminum Fireplace Connector Tube for the Residential Fireplace Industry
As a full service custom manufacturer, Woodmack Products, Inc. utilizes a wide range of processes to accommodate a broad range of specifications. This project required not only manufacturing but complete assembly utilizing our proprietary staking equipment. This fireplace connector featured complex bend geometries, and was composed of aluminum rods and tubes. It was designed for use in a residential fireplace application, and is used to connect the fireplace to a gas source. This fireplace connector was composed of .375" diameter, .035" thick, aluminum tube and .875" aluminum rod. This project was not only low volume but was at the lower end of our tube size spectrum.
Manufacturing required cutting and drilling to form the hub section. Tubing was sheared and precision bent on our hand bender. Beading was performed on our proprietary beading equipment. Once formed the hub and tube were staked. The finished assembly measured 5" in length and 3" in width and was manufactured to tolerances of ±0.03".
